A Mythopoeisis

Moments from Tatiana Ferahian's exhibition and our book launch at kunstruimte h47 in Leeuwarden, the Netherlands on March 19th. 

A book collaboration that re-imagines the longstanding mythologized figure, Mata Hari, in drawings and poetic narratives.

The Excluded Form

I was part of this year-long project which was launched in December, and organised by art association Cathrine along with its creative team. The large-scale artwork is by visual artist, Alexandros Vasmoulakis. If you're taking a walk on the seafront of Limassol, notice what's around and above you.

Rainbows and Unicorns

I woke up the next morning in a cold sweat. My dream was telling; I’m not sure whether I was carrying this large bag, impossible to lift, or if it was hauling me across the city. I felt dread without having the slightest hint of what I was afraid of. I took a peep into the carrier as I rested against a dimmed lamppost. The streets of Paris were empty, war-torn, abandoned of life. From the bottom of the bag, I pulled up a casted face, a monument of someone, I said. I turned it upside down: no epigraph, no signature, no sign. A generic plastic, no essence, a levelled texture, a manufactured memento mori. 

 

My short story Tendering Pink Readings features in this publication along with stories by Alexandra Manglis, and Constantia Soteriou, 

as part of the exhibition "Loukia Nikolaidou: Stories" curated by Christina Lambrou. Will be running from September 25 to October 21, 2020 at Garage art space in Nicosia.

Ξανά          gushing… trickling

μείνε για λίγο, να σε συγ - κρατήσω   closer & darker

καταπίνω την γαργάρα του κρότου    a purl sound  

Swish swash, swish swash

swoosh stronger stroke

Υγροποιώ το σκελετό της σκιάς   wriggling wet   

Η επαφή κάνει διακοπές   hum,  after

Οι τελείες θαμπώνουν αυτό που μόλις είδα in black & white

στο ίδιο flash   

Και μετά, σιγανά, ζουμάρω μέσα σε έναν άλλο χώρο      

Οι στιγμές αστραπιαίες και  

αργοκίνητες 

Αρχή δεν υπάρχει      walk through

σε έναν άλλο χώρο 

πυκνό   

φωτεινό  

κάποτε κινούμενο 

και εκθαμβωτικό  

η τύφλωση και ορατότητα ξανά 

το βουητό βουτιάς      the sound of a swallow    feathery

plop  

Αρχή δεν υπάρχει  

Μια ατέρμονη στροφή σχέσης…   απλά  

Όπου το βλέμμα στρέφεται ξανά   almost disappearing
